A: If you wish to have educational reform, efforts
must include a commitment to parental rights in choosing schools
for their children. We will assist those who do not have the financial
means to exercise choice.

Q: What are the school hours?
A: The school day starts promptly at 8:05am and
ends at 2:40pm for all students. Before and after care hours are
available 6:00 am. to 6:00 pm. at St. Rose Children's Center.
Q: What is the school's curriculum?
A: The Curriculum is based on the curriculum of
the Diocese of Toledo. The Diocesan curriculum is approved by
the Ohio Catholic School Accrediting Association and by the Ohio
Department of Education. St. Rose's curriculum includes religion,
reading, language arts, phonics (K-3), spelling, handwriting,
mathematics, science, social studies, health, physical education,
art, and computer/technology, and library.
Q: Do you have openings available for students?
A: In most cases, yes. Typically, as families move
out of the area there are openings. Candidates for admission will
be contacted as soon as space is available. While St. Rose is
committed to growth, we want to grow our school responsibly.
Q: What is the cost of tuition?
A: We work very hard to keep tuition as affordable
as possible. For the 2007-2008 school year, tuition is $4,124
for the first child, $8,248 for the second, $12,372 for the third
or more. Total operating cost to educate a student at St. Rose
exceeds the tuition amount. Fundraising efforts both school-sponsored
and grant/donor solicited - including our monthly bingo's, and
Script program, are important elements that offset the true cost
of education. St. Rose is an independent, self-sustaining Catholic
school that does not receive direct financial support.
Q: Is financial aid available?
A:Yes. St. Rose provides a completely confidential
tuition assistance process.The generosity of contributions to
St. Rose from the St. Rose Academic Scholarship, is given to two
students from each grade based on high academic effort, good positive
attitude and good conduct. The Kremer Grant is provide to any
student who has financial need. Applications for these scholarships
are available in the spring of each year. All tuition/fees must
be paid by May 31, 2008 to be eligible for scholarships.
Q: How are computers used at St. Rose?
A; Given the importance of technology to life skills
today and in the future, computers are an integral part of the
educational experience at St. Rose and are in every classroom.
In addition, an outstanding computer lab with state-of-the-art
hardware and software is used regularly by all classes and grades.The
middle school experience at St. Rose includes coming to the computer
lab up to three times a week, with open times for individual help.
We have a interactive whiteboard in the lab also. Our fourth and
sixth grades are currently involved with using PALM handheld computers.
Technology is constantly evaluated to remain authentic and with
a vision to the future.
Q: Is there a hot lunch program?
A: Yes. A hot meal is offered daily. Milk is also
available
Q; What extracurricular activities are offered?
A: Education of the whole person involves offering
a wide range of activities. CYO (Catholic Youth Organization sponsored)
sports such as soccer, football, basketball, volleyball, track
and field, baseball, wrestling, and cheerleading are available.
Other activities include scouting, choir, student council, student
ministry, Science Fair.
Q:What is the admissions policy?
A: Admission to St. Rose School is based on a system
with a interview with the principal, previous diagnostic test
scores, school transcripts for grades 1 through 8, kindergarten
assessment, and the schools ability to provide for the continued
moral, educational, and social growth of the student.
Q: Must a family be Catholic for a child to attend
St. Rose Catholic School?
A: St. Rose Catholic School of Lima, Ohio, recruits
